The Japanese media has been buzzing about Shakira since she was announced as a finalist for the FIFA world cup in the spring.
After a whirlwind promotional campaign, Shakira was officially chosen to be the host of the 2022 FIFA World Footballer of the Year Award in February 2018.
This was the first time a woman was chosen as the winner of the award, which also goes to the next most-watched woman in the world, FIFA Women’s World Player of the Century Dani Alves.
Shahina’s world cup performance was the highlight of the weeklong event, and many fans have been waiting for her to perform on-stage with the group for months.
The first live streaming event for the 2022 edition of FIFA World Cups is set to begin later this month.
